Picus Enhances Automated Penetration Testing for Comprehensive Adversarial Exposure Validation

Picus Security, a leader in security validation, has announced new innovations to its Attack Path Validation (APV) product. The enhanced Picus APV provides security teams with accurate, risk-free, and continuous automated penetration testing, allowing them to identify critical vulnerabilities while minimizing business disruptions and reducing time spent on threat research. When combined with its Breach and Attack Simulation (BAS) technology, Picus offers a comprehensive approach to Adversarial Exposure Validation for enterprise organizations.

Picus APV leverages evasive automated penetration testing and attack path-mapping capabilities, enabling users to identify and map critical exposures that could be exploited by attackers. Unlike legacy penetration testing solutions, which often produce excessive alerts or false positives and require several days to complete, Picus APV offers a faster and more accurate approach. It mimics real-world attack techniques such as lateral movement, data exfiltration, and file encryption associated with ransomware attacks. This allows the platform to remain stealthy during testing, avoiding premature detection and providing a more accurate reflection of genuine threat scenarios.

Designed with safety in mind, Picus APV ensures that harmful exploits do not run in production environments, minimizing the risk of system crashes or network outages. Security operations teams can set Picus APV to run continuously on autopilot or on a schedule, allowing for parallel assessments to be carried out simultaneously. This continuous testing helps improve visibility into critical vulnerabilities that may emerge between point-in-time tests, providing more proactive cybersecurity coverage.

Andrea Licciardi, Senior Cybersecurity Manager at MAIRE Group, praised Picus APV for elevating their proactive defense capabilities. “Its automated pentesting features have allowed us to quickly identify gaps and strengthen our cybersecurity posture in real-time,” said Licciardi. “The platform’s adaptability to our specific security needs has significantly improved our overall threat readiness, making Picus APV a key component of our cyber resilience strategy.”

Gartner® has noted that a good validation process must address several challenges, including a combination of technical assessments such as penetration testing, breach and attack simulation, and attack path mapping. Picus APV brings all of these elements together in one solution, offering a comprehensive Exposure Validation platform that sets it apart from competitors.

Volkan Ertürk, Picus co-founder and CTO, emphasized the uniqueness of their solution: “We are the only vendor offering a comprehensive Exposure Validation solution. Our expertise in threat simulation and attack path mapping has enabled us to develop a stealthier automated pentesting product that closely mirrors real-world threats, giving our customers a significant advantage.”

The Picus Adversarial Exposure Validation solution integrates Automated Penetration Testing, Attack Path Mapping, and Breach and Attack Simulation (BAS) capabilities into a single open platform, providing enterprise organizations with an advanced, continuous approach to validating and mitigating cybersecurity risks.
